Apostolic Formation

These are blog posts about what I do in formation work in Basic Education. At present, I am the Assistant Director for Formation of the Senior High School of Ateneo de Davao University. (See how I began my mission here.) Together with the Formation Cluster of ADDU’s Basic Education committee, we are currently designing an ADDU sui generis Formation Program. Our Formation Program IS also our Leadership Program: we are educating all students to become leaders in the world, marked by their ADDU brand of formation.

In the past, I have been asked to write about the Formation Program of the Jesuit Basic Education Commission (JBEC) as all Jesuit schools in the Philippines underwent a re-molding in the turbulence of the new K-12 curriculum.

At the JBEC meeting in Cebu City on September 13, 2013, the Provincial, Fr. Antonio Moreno SJ, missioned me and the whole team of formators in all JBEC schools to draft a program that preserves the “Jesuit” brand in education.

Those past articles chronicling our hits and misses could still be accessed in this blog. Nothing had been deleted; I just moved on.

As in the past, Mission Without Fear continues to be a personal blog. It should be clear that this is not the official website of the Ateneo de Davao University. Nevertheless, what is written here is our story; every post is an unfolding.

So, in order for me to write about the ADDU Sui Generis Formation Program, I thought of doing it here. Blog posts are not dissertations. The chunk by chunk, piece by piece approach is doable for me and palatable for my readers.

If I put together all that I have written here, it would eventually be easier to have a whole literature on the new ADDU Sui Generis Formation Program.

It will also have the high apostolic value of being able to help others who are also struggling with us.
